“Prince of Asia” Jang Keun Suk opened up about his alcohol tolerance.

The actor guested on the November 18 broadcast of MBC’s “Section TV” and showed his down-to-earth attitude to life.

When asked about his highest expenditure, he answered with a laugh, “When I looked at my liquor bill for the recent three months, I think I’ve drank too much. That was a good wake up call.”

He added, “I’ve drank with my dad and finished six bottles. I didn’t even remember how I got home.”

[NEWS]Jang Keun Suk Revealed his Plans for Europe Tour

Actor Jang Keun Suk revealed that he was planning on having a European Club Tour at the end of the year.

On July 7th, Jang Keun Suk talked at a press conference preceeding his show in Seoul, part of his 2012 Jang Keun Suk Asia Tour, which was held at a stadium at Korea University.

"I love new places and new challenges, " he said, "I don't like to be satisfied and stay in one place and that's why I want to take on this new challenge."

He went on to say that he was planning on a club tour of Europe at the end of the year. He expressed wishes to hold small performances in clubs with his new electronic music and debuting as an international DJ.

"I'm more known for my acting in Korea but in other countries that use different languages, my music can tell them more about me," he confided, "I believe that I can reach out to a lot of people and that's why I'm planning on this tour."

After his current tour is over, he plans to invite around 1500 people to a club and have a small performance to let people experience what he's talking about.

Last March, he was able to sell out his shows in Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Shanghai and Tokyo. As a 20th anniversary of his debut, he started off his 2012 Jang Geun Seok Asia tour.

This past May 30th, he released his first Japanese Album, "Just Crazy." He was shot to the top of the Oricon charts within a week of the release.

As a new Hallyu star who has garnered much attention in Japan, Jang Keun Suk has liked music since young. With a passion for Japanese visual rock, his wish is to release his first album “Just Crazy” under his own name.

During the one year of production, even when he is working as an actor, thoughts of his album were often on his mind. A work of confidence, “Just Crazy” album is invested with much feeling which is conveyed through the first Excite Music interview.

“Purple Concept”, a purple-mood album

Excite: Before we talk about the much-anticipated first album “Just Crazy”, let’s ask about JKS’ music experience to date. How did you initially come to be interested in music?

JKS: I think I became interested at the age of 4 or 5 when I watched TV programmes with dance and music. After that, when I was a high school student, I became interested in Japanese culture, and what was trendy then was Japanese visual rock. From then on, I listened to rock music from various countries. These few years, I also listen to dance music and not just only rock.

Excite: The opportunity for you to make your own music?

JKS: During my acting work, I played the role of a rock band singer in the movie “Happy Life” when I was 20 years old.

Excite: You played the role of the singer in the rock band “Active Volcano” (in the movie).

JKS: Yes. During that movie, it was my first time practising the guitar and doing live scene filming at the same time. It was a very happy time. With that experience, I thought of whether I could sing as Jang Keun Suk in my future performance. From that time, my interest to develop rock music became even more stronger. Unknowingly, the role of a musician is not just the nature of my acting work but has become Jang Keun Suk’s life!

Excite: “Just Crazy” is your first solo album. How do you feel compared to the Team H album (with friend and music producer Big Brother)?

JKS: I feel just as happy, but there is some difference. Since April debut (of Team H album) last year, preparations for this album started immediately. Song selection, music arrangement, discussion of the lyrics and artistic work etc. It took one year to prepare. During my acting work, I often thought about the album. Because of this, the happiness from its completion is also a lot. Happy not just because of the satisfaction in doing it, but because of the confidence I gained.

“What kind of feelings to have as I move forward”

Excite: What is the concept during production?

JKS: I want to make an album with a purple impression. My debut song “Let me cry” did not have a simple image; if I use colour to describe it, it feels black. But from the preparation stage, I wanted to produce and complete this album based on the feeling of purple. At the beginning of production, the producer communicated this, “Please set as the goal an album with a purple impression and purple feelings!”

Excite: That’s why purple is used on the album cover?

JKS: This design was decided after much discussion with staff. Many feelings, thoughts and intangible stuff poured out from our mind, because this album is the nature of my own work.

Excite: Aggressive songs. Gentle songs. Colourful songs. Sad songs. An album rich in many various types of rock.

JKS: Yes it’s like that. And all (the songs) reflect my feelings. Because besides the song for which I wrote the lyrics, the other song lyrics are written after lots of discussion.

Excite: The hit song “Crazy Crazy Crazy” is a very horror type of rock.

JKS: The expressions for this song change continuously. The lyrics have a strong story line. There is a story but my own character is also strongly reflected.

Excite: Then what kind of character is it?

JKS: Simply said, it’s “doS” [laughs]. Because of that perspective of the world, so for the MV my eyeliner was very thick.

Excite: In contrast we have the song “In my dream” with melody and lyrics both written by you. This is a heartwarming narrative song, and also the only song in this album sung in Korean.

JKS: It’s been 20 years since I started working. The song “In my dream” is written on the basis of having worked 20 years. What is the reason that I continue to run forward until now? And what kind of thoughts should I have in order to move forward? I wrote the lyrics as I considered these issues.

“At my Japanese concerts, I see many expressions”

Excite: This melody, during last year’s Tokyo Dome concert…

JKS: Yes! It’s this song!

Excite: sang this kind of song right!

JKS: Yes [laughs]. That song is the raw form, but the lyrics are entirely different.

Excite: “Guardian Star” that’s only in the normal edition is also memorable. Does it evoke nostalgia? Giving a sense of assurance?

JKS: This is a song released at last year’s Arena tour. I said that on stage, this song came about because of the great East Japan earthquake. I wanted to do something for the people of Japan, so I decided to sing this song. I put my feelings into the album to convey to all.

Excite: The last song “Tomorrow” is a relaxing pop song. As one listens, one starts to feel very blissful.

JKS: Because it’s a song brimming with hope. I wanted to have a harmonious song that enables one to feel tomorrow and the future as the ending song for the album.

Excite: How was it to sing in Japanese? Besides “In my dream”, all the lyrics are in Japanese.

JKS: Of course singing in Korean is better as I can express my feelings better. It’s my mother tongue so I can sing more smoothly. Actually, singing in Japanese is not that hard because I had sufficient preparation.

Excite: You have Asia Tour from July to October, and 8 concerts in Japan. What kind of stage effects will you have?

JKS: The details are not decided yet, but will perform most of the songs in the “Just Crazy” album. There will still be a part on rock, but it will be completely different. Just like the performance last year, I want to show many different images. For this, I will steadfastly discuss this with my staff.

Jang Geun Suk says, “Han Ye Seul is a woman with deadly charms”

Actor Jang Geun Suk has recently praised actress Han Ye Seul for her deadly charms.




On the April 21st broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘, the show visited the filming location of Jang Geun Suk and Han Ye Seul’s latest commercial.  During the interview, Jang Geun Suk introduced Han Ye Seul as “A women who is deadly like an expresso“.  Han Ye Seul was delighted by the actor’s introduction and replied, “I like that“.




During the interview, Han Ye Seul opened up about her previous controversy that forced her to suspend activities with her ongoing drama, ‘Spy Myung Wol‘.  She revealed, “I’ve been staying quiet and doing well.  I had a lot of hardships last year and I’ve reflected on it a lot.  I’ve become stronger.  It was a chance for me to decide which path I should take as an actress.  From now on, I will work hard and repay the love I receive from fans.”

Jang Keun Suk “I Think I Have Fallen in Love with YoonA”

Recently the filming set for “Love Rain” located at the “Yoons Color Four Season House” was revealed. Jang Keun Suk met with the press and talked about YoonA’s character “Hana.” Jang Keun Suk stated, “I’m not only speaking on behalf of my character, but also as the real Jang Keun Suk, ‘Hana’ is a very loveable girl.”



He continued, “Isn’t the romance between my character and Hana so beautiful? While acting, the charm of Hana came to me like it was real. That is why while acting I actually felt butterflies. I think I am in love.”

He also stated that he felt like he was going through puberty again because he has a lot of time to think back on his life.

What’s the reason that only Jang Keun Suk became to the top Hallyu Star?
SNSD’s Yoona told us Jang Keun Suk’s excellent fans managing secret. Both Yoona and Jang Keun Suk are now leading in the drama “Love Rain”. Yoona said that to work with Jang Keun Suk there is a lot she can learn from him.
There are always lots of fans at Love Rain shooting site. Since the leading actors are Hallyu Star Jang Keun Suk and SNSD’s Yoona, so this is reasonable. If you say there is something different compare to other shooting site then that is there are not only Korean fans but also fans from Japan, China etc.. Since both of them are popular stars, so fans are just like influx. Sometimes the fans can cause trouble of shooting. Even when they were shooting in Hokkaido, there were lots of fans. So people really felt the sensation of Jang Keun Suk and Yoona.
During a recent interview, Yoona said: “Jang Keun Suk always nicely says hi to the fans. Sometimes he talked to them, joking with them. He has extraordinary fan service.” When the shooting start, every actor will be in a sensitive state. Even fans are at the shooting site. Most of time they only can watch from distance, maybe only see the top of a few heads, not even mention to meet them. If the shooting schedule is tight, actors have to concentrate on acting, so is hard to think of their fans under that situation. But Jang Keun Suk is an exception; he will say hi to the fans and use his special way to comfort fans that come from faraway. Sometimes he would do shuffle dance to warm up the atmosphere on site.
Yoona said: “When I am waiting for shooting, I will stay in my car and read script, but Jang Keun Suk will take time to chat with fans, to express his thankfulness. He cares for his fans very much. After seeing this, I thought a lot, and I learnt a lot.”

Q2: Sebelum syuting, apakah kalian sudah membaca manga YMP atau melihat versi drama seri jepangnya?

KHN: Ketika pertama kali aku baca skrip dan belajar tentang peran Ji Eun dan In Ho, aku merasa ceritanya sangat unik dan cukup sulit. apakah penonton akan benar-benar membelinya? aku khawatir tentang itu. tapi setelah aku melihat drama serinya, kupikir ini adalah sesuatu yg indah, dan aku pikir ini akan menjadi film dimana orang2 akan tertarik dan jatuh cinta.

JKS: (Menjawab dlm bhs jepang), aku membaca cerita ini 4 tahun yg lalu, saat itu aku merasa bahwa ini adalah cerita yg cute dan manis dan aku akan suka melihat film atau drama seri yg dibuat dr cerita ini. sekarang setelah 4 tahun dengan skrip ditanganku; akhirnya aku dapat bermain dlm film yg ceritanya aku sukai, aku sangat gembira.

Q3: Dalam kehidupan nyata, kapan momen dimana kalian merasa sedang jatuh cinta? dlm film, bagaimana kalian menciptakan momen "cinta" itu?

KHN: Momen saat merasakan cinta, itu datang bahkan sebelum kamu mengetahuinya. jika kamu ingin mengetahui adegan mana yg merupakan "momen" itu, aku akan berkata bahwa itu ketika Ji En dan In Ho bermain di kasur dan mereka saling memandang satu sama lain dan hampir berciuman. sebenarnya aku pikir meskipun adegan itu tidak begitu penting, perasaan diantara mereka berubah sedikit demi sedikit sebelum adegan itu.

JKS: Awalnya bagi ji en, in ho hanyalah sebuah "peliharaan". jadi dia selalu bersikap sebagai seorang pemilik, tapi sedikit demi sedikit, dia tidak lagi mencari kesetiaan dari in ho, tetapi menjadi sebuah perasaan dari hidup bersama dan menjadi semakin dekat. itu ditunjukkan dari beberapa hal setelah perasaan itu terlihat. in ho tidak lagi menjadi "peliharaan" tetapi tampak sebagai seorang pria di mata ji en. jadi emosi ji en yg sebenarnya mulai ditunjukkan lebih dan lebih lagi.

Q4: Seperti apa jika kalian mencintai seseorang di kehidupan nyata?

KHN: Ketika aku muda aku pernah merasakan cinta pandangan pertama. tapi sekarang aku tidak berpikir itu akan terjadi. aku akan butuh waktu lama untuk mengetahui tentang dirinya dan merasa nyaman dengan dirinya. jika aku memiliki pria sangat perhatian padaku, aku mungkin jatuh cinta padanya.

JKS: Well, ini ... jadi kita akan berbicara tentang aku? (hahaha) ketika aku mencintai seseorang adalah momen dimana aku mengetahui kelemahannya. kelemahan ini akan menjadi sebuah kesulitan bagi dirinya tapi bagiku itu bukanlah apa-apa. jadi ketika waktu itu tiba, aku sangat ingin mencintainya dan membantunya.

Q5: "Memelorotkan celana" adalah satu adegan yg menarik. ji en sedang memandikan in ho di kamar mandi, adegan itu amat berkesan. bagaimana atmosfer di lokasi selama syuting adegan itu?

JKS: Adegan itu .. itu tidak direncanakan bahwa aku memelorotkan celana dan berdiri di bath tub, tapi aku ingin penonton melihat in ho yang lucu, jadi aku putuskan untuk lakukan itu dan kupikir KHN nuna senang dengan itu.

KHN: aku tidak tau akan terjadi seperti itu sebelumnya. ketika syuting dimulai, aku lihat JKS melakukan tindakan yg tidak direncanakan, aku benar-benar shock dan terkejut melihatnya. tidak hanya itu, dia bahkan menarik bajunya ke atas, itu lebih mengejutkan bagiku. tentu saja, dia memakai underwear short dibawah bajunya, sebenarnya, saat itu sudah tak penting apakah dia memakai itu (underwear short) atau tidak. dengan semua keterkejutan itu, aku berteriak sangat keras dan JKS melihat reaksiku, dia pikir aku suka dengan itu .. tapi dia sudah melakukan akting yg bagus disitu, kupikir itu tidak terlalu buruk. (tertawa).

JKS: juga, setelah syuting selesai, rupanya nuna enggan untuk meninggalkannya.

Q6: Apakah ada adegan yang romantis?

JKS: di tepi sungai, kami menari bersama, tidak hanya musiknya yg romantis, tempatnya juga sangat indah. kupikir KHN nuna harus mengingat adegan itu dengan baik juga? (tertawa)

KHN: (tertawa) bicara ttg adegan romantis, aku mungkin punya pilihan sedikit berbeda dengan JKS. ada sebuah adegan, setelah in ho berantem dengan mantan pacar ji en, in ho ingin mencium ji en, itu adalah adegan yang paling memorable bagiku. aku (ji en) mengerti perasaan in ho sebagai seorang pria, ji en sebenarnya sangat peduli pada in ho, emosi yg rumit dan keadaan pikirannya saat itu, itu berkesan kuat bagiku.

Q7: ketika sendirian kau akan kesepian. selama syuting, apakah kalian melihat suatu sisi yg mengejutkan dari diri kalian satu sama lain?

JKS: Nuna terlihat seperti wanita yang cantik dan baik hati/lembut, tapi nyatanya dia adalah wanita yg kuat. seperti ji en di film, itu sulit. penonton juga bisa melihat dia menari sendiri, ini mengejutkan bagiku dan aku merasa itu sangat fresh.

KHN: JKS selalu menceriakan lokasi syuting. jika dia melihat aku kelelahan, dia akan lakukan sesuatu. dia selalu enerjik, sangat aktif, tapi suatu hari, aku melihatnya duduk sendiri di kursi dan dia terlihat kesepian. aku mengerti bahwa dia pernah merasakan saat-saat kesepian juga. (hehehe).

Q8: di jepang, banyak wanita-wanita karir yang hampir tidak pernah jatuh cinta. wanita2 itu setelah mereka menonton film, mereka mengerti hubungan ji en dan in ho dan mereka mengangumi perasaan itu. jadi apa pendapat kalian tentang cinta yang dimulai seperti dalam film ini?

KHN: menurutku dalam sebuah hubungan, tidak penting bagaimana itu dimulai, sebenarnya yg paling penting adalah proses dalam menjalani cinta. tentu saja, akan ada situasi seperti dlm film, tentang bagaimana suatu hubungan seperti itu dimulai.

JKS: seperti dalam film, in ho "dipelihara" oleh wanita yg lebih tua, dia ingin pemiliknya itu datang ke rumah, dia menyukainya, memanjakannya, dan bergantung kepadanya, bahkan menyiapkan sebuah program untuknya, dll. jika setiap hari seperti itu, bukankah itu hal yg menyenangkan? K: The moment you are in love with someone: The feeling comes before you even know it.

YMP is the first movie that featuring with JKS, the most popular hallyu star in Japan and KHN, “the Queen of Romantic Comedy Movie”. It tells a woman and man in a relationship as an owner and her pet. Come to listen what they say about each other and some stories BTS, also they talked about love in their real life.

Q1: The first meeting was “cold”.
This was the first time they play in a movie together. What’s their first impression to each other?

K: Normally we should meet first on site for shooting, but we met before that, it was at a coffee shop to discuss the roles. He immediately played joke with me showed me the playful side of him. My first impression to him, he looked as serious worker, we only discussed about script and didn’t have any other communications. So I didn’t know that he is a very lively person before the shooting. I even was sort of worried, but when the shooting started going, I found out that actually he is a person that full of energy and very active, but also he is very serious and concentrating on acting.

J: I didn’t bring my agent, only two of us talked about script. I thought I was just being like a dongsaing come to visit a nuna, I said hello in a light way, but I don’t know if Ha Neul didn’t really pay attention to that or what, we only talked about the script but nothing else. Q2: Before shooting have you read YMP manga or watched Japanese version TV Series?

K: When I first read script and learnt about Ji En and In Ho’s roles in the movie, I felt the story is very unique and kind of difficult. Does the viewer will really buy it? I was worried about it. But after I watched Japanese version TV series, I think it is a really beautiful world of the two, and immediately I think this is going to be a movie that people will be attracted to and fall in love.

J: (Answered in Japanese), I read script 4 years ago, at that time I felt that this was a very cute and sweet story and I would love to see the movie or TV series made from it. Now after 4 years with the script in my hand; “Finally I can play in a movie that the story I love.” I was really happy about it.

Q3: In real life when is the moment you feel you’re in love.
In the movie, how to produce the “love” moment?

K: The moment of feeling love, it comes before you even know it. If you really want to know which scene is “the moment”. I would say is that when Ji En and In Ho were playing on the bed and the two of them fell into each other’s eyes and almost about to kiss. Actually, I really think even that scene is not that important, the feeling between them changed little by little before that scene.

J: At the beginning, to Ji En, In Ho is only a “pet”. So she always acted as an owner, but little by little, she didn’t look for loyalty from In Ho but became to a feeling from living together and getting very close. It showed in many ways after that feeling surfaced. In Ho was no longer a “per” but a man in her eyes. So her real emotions started to show more and more.

Q4: What is it like if you love someone in real life?

K: When I was young I had love of first sight. But now I don’t think that is going to happen. I will need a long time to know him and feel really good about him, then, if I have a man and can really take care of me, I may fall for him.

J: Well, this… so are we really going to talk about me? (hahaha) When I love someone is the moment that I know her weakness. This weakness will be a difficulty for her but to me it’s nothing. So when that time come I really want to love her and help her.

Q5: “Pulling down the shorts” that was an exciting scene.
Ji En was giving In Ho a bath in the bathroom, the scene was pretty impressive. How was the atmosphere on site during shooting that scene?

J: That scene, it was not planned as like I pull down the shorts and standing up in the bath tub, but I wanted to let viewers to see a funny In Ho, so I decided to do that and I think Ha Neul nuna was pleased with it.

K: I didn’t know it was like that before hand. When the shooting stated, I saw Geunsuk did that unplanned act, I was totally shocked and so surprised to see it. Not only that, he even rose up his shirt, this was even more shocks to me. Of course, he has underwear shorts under his shirt, actually, at that moment it was already not that important if he has it (underwear shorts) or not. With all these shocks, I yelled it out so loud and Geunsuk saw my reaction, he thought I was pleased with it… but he put such a great acting to it, I think it was really not bad. (laugh).

J: Also, when shooting was finished, but nuna seemed to leave it reluctantly.

Q6: Is there a very romantic scene?

J: By the river, we were dancing together, not only the music was so romantic, the whole site was just beautiful. I think Ha Neul nuna should remember that scene very well too? (laugh).

K: (laugh) Talk about romantic scene. I may have a bit different choice with Geunsuk. There was a scene, after In Ho fought with Ji En’s ex-boyfriend, In Ho wanted to kiss Ji En, this was most memorable scene to me. I (Ji En) understood In Ho’s feeling as a man, Ji En actually was caring so much about In Ho, the complicated emotions and her state of mind at that moment, It really made me have strong resonance.

Q7: It’s lonely when you’re on yourself. During shooting, did you see the surprising side of each other?

J: Nuna looks like a very beautiful and virtuous lady, but in fact she is a very strong woman. Just like Ji En in the movie, it is hard. Also the viewer can see her dance alone, this was surprising to me and I felt it was so fresh.

K: Geunsuk always lights up the shooting site, if he saw I was tired he would do something with it. He is always full of energy, very active, but one day, I saw him sitting on the chair alone and he looked lonely. I kind of understood that he had that lonely moment too. (hehehe).

Q8: In Japan, there are lots of professional women, more and more never even fall in love.
Those women after they watched movie, they understand Ji En and In Ho’s relationship and they admire that kind of feeling.
So what do you think about that kind of love started like in the movie?

K: I think in a relationship, it doesn’t matter how it is started, actually the most important thing is the process of running the love. Of course, there will be situation like in the movie that kind of relationship started.

J: Like in the movie, In Ho was raised by an older woman, he wants the owner to come home, he deeply adores her, he spoils her, also depends on her, even prepare a program for her etc.. If everyday is like this, isn’t that a happy thing? (In Japanese). Come to raise me! …if you have the confidence. (laugh)

Q9: Do you have the thoughts that you don’t want to be raised but to be an owner yourself?
