Fans of 2009 hit drama “You’re Beautiful” will be happy to know that its main stars Park Shin-hye and Jang Keun-suk will come together to endorse a Chinese beverage brand.

The two’s agencies announced through separate press releases on Wednesday that Park will join Jang in endorsing drinks manufactured by Tong Yi, one of China’s biggest and most influential food companies.

A press release by Park’s agency S.A.L.T Entertainment stated that their actress newly signed with Tong Yi while Jang’s contract with the brand was extended into its third year.

Jang’s promoter YTREE MEDIA said their TV commercial is in planning and that they will take on promotional activities in China starting in May.

An official with Tong Yi was quoted as saying, “Our beautiful cooperation with two of the most popular Korean artists in Asia will help us solidify our brand image as one that represents youths.

Park and Jang shot to stardom throughout Asia through “You’re Beautiful” and have been popular in the region ever since so therefore are set to continue with their individual activities overseas as well as at home this year.

Park is set to start shooting her period-set film “King’s Costume-making Office” (translated title) this month.

Korean actor Jang Keun Suk has been appointed to the new CM character for "prepaid travel Korea Sumitomo Mitsui Card". Preceded by a public official site of Sumitomo Mitsui Card, CM will be aired from November 22. Q1. What do you think after shooting?
I think I showed my real self on the set. I discussed how to say lines, pose and express my feelings with Director while checking the monitor and I acted in the CF to show real Jang Keun Suk. I enjoyed shooting a lot.


Q2. What do you think it the highlight of the new CF?
The highlight is that real Jang Keun Suk was expressed in the CF. It includes my ad lib lines and expressions. You can see real JKS in it. Please enjoy watching it!
Q3. Do you often watch Korean romance dramas?
Yes, I do! As I’m Korean, I’m very happy that SkyperfecTV planned the special reviews of Hallyu love story. I think Korean dramas are popular everywhere around the world. I’d be happy if Japanese watch various Korean dramas, plus Korean culture and meals through this special feature program. Please watch them and enjoy yourself!


Q4. What do you think the difference between Japanese dramas and Korean ones is?
I have a friend who came to Korea from abroad. I asked him (or her), “What brought you here, Korea?” The guy answered, “Because after watching Korean dramas, I’ve come to like Korean culture and Korean people and wanted to study Korean. That’s why I’m here.” Hearing the answer, I recognized how big dramas can influence on people. The one reason is that drama includes various stuffs such as Korean way of living, meals and culture in fashion.
In fact, there is a difference between dramas and a real life. For example, the setting of my room on the set is also as big as other ones in dramas. In Korean dramas, people live in much bigger houses than Japanese ones. But actually it’s not true. I think Korean house is a bit bigger than Japanese one, but there are few grand houses like in dramas. I live in a small house. lol. I live in my dog’s house. I live in Suni’s house. lol.


Q5. In conclusion, please give a message to the viewers.

Jang Keun Suk acts in “Sky Perfect TV” commercial and it goes on air on June 23rd. The CF is for “Hallyu romance dramas full review ~Summer in love~” which have been broadcast so far.

JKS appears on 2 versions; “JKS is absorbed” and “Kissing scenes.” The setting is that JKS is watching TV in his room from morning till night (even during eating time), as if he couldn’t take his eyes off the monitor.

The CF was shot at the beginning of this month. In the CF, JKS was watching TV while eating ice cream and pizza. When he heard songs included his first album on the shooting set, he enjoyed posing and singing. After shooting, he played guitar and sang to entertain the staff.

Actor Jang Geun Suk has recently praised actress Han Ye Seul for her deadly charms.




On the April 21st broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Entertainment Weekly‘, the show visited the filming location of Jang Geun Suk and Han Ye Seul’s latest commercial.  During the interview, Jang Geun Suk introduced Han Ye Seul as “A women who is deadly like an expresso“.  Han Ye Seul was delighted by the actor’s introduction and replied, “I like that“.




During the interview, Han Ye Seul opened up about her previous controversy that forced her to suspend activities with her ongoing drama, ‘Spy Myung Wol‘.  She revealed, “I’ve been staying quiet and doing well.  I had a lot of hardships last year and I’ve reflected on it a lot.  I’ve become stronger.  It was a chance for me to decide which path I should take as an actress.  From now on, I will work hard and repay the love I receive from fans.”

SUNTORY announced that the new TV CF of “Seoul Makkori”, “Cheers with Seoul Makkori” version was going to be broadcast throughout Japan on Feb. 22. The CF has continued to star a very popular Hallyu star, Jang Keun Suk. He appeals the semi-sparkling suaveness and the convenience because of the canned Makkori to the viewers.

The setting is a white “Makkori Bar” and a bar man performed by JKS makes a toast with a woman who first drinks it, showing her the charm. His new song “RAIN” is used as the background music. It helps to enhance the sweet atmosphere.

The shooting

was taken place in suburbs of Seoul, Korea this January. The set of Makkori Bar was recreated as the same as that used in the previous CF.

It’s been a year since we shot last, but he performed quite well like a real bar man who serves drinks to guests every night. When we shot the scene that he exchanged words with the woman, we felt like a gentle and sweet breeze. It’s JKS’ world.

What surprised the CF crew was his Japanese skill. He instantly understood the setting and production of acting without interpreters. Besides, he discussed how to act in detail such as stage business. Although it was marathon shooting, we succeeded to finish it smoothly not to have concentration problems.
