Jang Keun Suk showed what being a top hallyu star was all about through his successful Tokyo Dome concert.Jang’s 2011 The Cri Show in Tokyo Dome concert was held at the Tokyo Dome on November 26, with all of the seats in the large stadium packed with 45,000 of Jang’s Japanese fans.

Jang appeared onstage saying, “It has great meaning to me that I’m able to stand in Tokyo Dome, the stage of any artist’s dreams. I wanted to show you something different for this stage on which I fulfilled my dream.” The following performances lived up to his word, as his audience could glimpse how thoroughly he had prepared for the concert.First, a dreamy video of Jang Keun Suk in a prince’s castle played onscreen. The performances which followed involved his biking around the Tokyo Dome, a flag show by the 50 and more staff members and his singing on a large hot air balloon.Jang sang OSTs from his dramas such as Hello Hello and Oh My Darling, along with his Japan debut single and a new song titled Guardian Star, which was released for the first time at the concert. The reactions from the Japanese fans gathered there were more than passionate.

They went wild at Jang’s every word and song, and continued to cheer and applaud for their star. Jang even hosted the entire show in Japanese, and during a performance in which he was to give a ‘Prince pledge’, he was touched to tears.Although the performance took place for four hours, an hour longer than the originally planned three, the fans stayed at their seats for the entire time to show their support for Jang Keun Suk. They also showed they were far from cooling down for a long time after the performance by staying behind in the parking lots and areas around the stadium.An official for the event said about the phenomenon, “Jang Keun Suk is very popular in Japan these days. I believe it’s even hotter than the Yonsama boom.
