The upcoming drama series Love Rain in which Jang Keun Suk and SNSD’s Yoona star completed the contracts of its broadcasting rights with Japanese broadcasters even before the series start to air in Korea.
According to its production company, Love Rain has attracted so much attention from Japan and other overseas ...broadcasting markets even as it was in the pre-project planning phase thanks to the brilliant cast including Jang Keun Suk and Yoona. Recently, they concluded a contract of Love Rain’s broadcasting rights with Japan’s Pony Canyon.
The company added, “Love Rain has received lots of calls from Japanese broadcasters who take a profound interest in airing the series on their networks. That’s why its broadcasting rights were all sold out now even before start airing in Korea. I know that it was the biggest deal among Korean drama series exported to overseas markets.”
Besides Japan, Love Rain has recently had a high profile in overseas markets, so it is expected to mark a new record among Korean drama series entering the overseas markets.
The production company said, “It might be natural that Love Rain enjoys such a high level of attention like this considering that this is the combination of the proven director Yoon Seok Ho and top Hallyu stars, Jang Keun Suk and SNSD’s Yoona. To reciprocate the high expectations placed on Love Rain, we are doing our best to create the best piece of work.”
Director Yoon Seok Ho is firmly determined to show the quintessence of melodrama loaded with picturesque cinematography and sensibility which are his trade mark. He has produced a series of hit drama series including “Autumn Tale” and “Winter Sonata.”
